ANDREW H. BROWN | FOUNDER
After enlisting in the US Army, Andrew spent the last decade working as a humanitarian & a filmmaker in sub-Saharan Africa. Most recently, Andrew was the co-director, cinematographer, producer & editor of BETWEEN THE RAINS (Tribeca Festival 2023, winner of Best Feature Documentary and Best Cinematography; IDA 2024 nomination for Best Cinematography; Cinema Eye Honors 2024 nomination for Outstanding Production). In 2023, Andrew was also the editor of National Geographic’s Emmy-winning documentary PATH OF THE PANTHER (executive produced by Leonardo di Caprio). Before that, Andrew was the producer (p.g.a.), cinematographer & editor of KIFARU (Grand Jury Prize and Audience Award at Full Frame 2019). As the editor for KIFARU, he was also nominated by Jackson Wild for Best Editing. Prior to that, Andrew spent three years building relationships within northern Kenya’s poaching network, unveiling the intricacies of the illegal ivory trade as the producer of WHEN LAMBS BECOME LIONS (winner of Best Editing at Tribeca Film Festival 2018). Andrew was also a fellow of the Points North Fellowship at Camden International Film Festival 2022.
Andrew also teaches directing at UNC School of the Arts in the film program and is a programmer for feature documentaries for Slamdance Film Festival since 2021.
